“I – I have been here a long time, John. And i have seen things on this Island that I could barely describe, but I’ve never seem someone come back to life.”
These are the words Richard Alpert said to Loophole-Locke in the Lost season 5 finale. Words which we can now take to be true, after the reveal that John Locke wasn’t re-birthed, but rather possessed, if you will, by Jacob’s long-time adversary.
That said, I’m still very much a believer in John Locke, and I think that Richard’s words will be even more powerful once John Locke does something that hasn’t been done before by literally coming back to life in the final season of the show.
I could be wrong, but when put into context, Richard’s words almost seem like a challenge has been laid down – one which the writers are going to use to their advantage in season 6. After all, as Loophole-Locke said:
“Doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”
I guess we’ll find out in 9 or so months time!

what lies in the shadow of the stature? He who will save us all. Well, what or who lies in the shadow of the statue/
The corpse of John Locke. He will return and save the others and the Losties from Jacob’s enemy and end the cycle.
